Bay Shore righty Brian Weissert put the finishing touch on a masterpiece. Nine Suffolk pitchers shut out the Nassau senior all-stars, 1-0, Tuesday night at the 12th annual Rawlings Grand Slam Challenge at Farmingdale State College.
The senior righthander responded with a fabulous three-hit shutout as the Wildcats downed Rocky Point, 5-0, Saturday in the Suffolk Class A tournament in Wading River before a raucous crowd of more than 700 that rimmed the field.

Sound defense and another brilliant pitching performance by Sam Kessler brought Mount Sinai its first Suffolk Class A baseball championship since the school opened in 1990.
Madison Sanchez dodged inside, saw a double team coming, and sent a pass outside to Bellissimo. She fired from six meters out and scored the winner with 22 seconds remaining to lift Rocky Point to a 9-8 win over Harborfields in a Division II girls lacrosse game Thursday.
Grillo responded in a big way. The lefthander allowed one earned run in seven innings, hit the first homerun of his varsity career, and added a two-run double in the 12th inning to key a four-run rally as Rocky Point outlasted Shoreham-Wading River, 7-3, in a Suffolk Class A playoff game.
